Greeting all. I am pleased to see that so many students are already working on their assignments.
As we start distance learning, I would like to address a few common questions coming to my email to help clarify things. 1) I will not be collecting homework assignments. You do not have to email them to me. The assignments are for you to practice the problems. Thus, the due dates are guidelines as to where you should be in your work. This is so that you are not trying to learn 10 lessons two days before an exam is assigned. Or in other words, DON'T PROCRASTINATE! There will be online quizzes and tests that will send your answers directly to me. Based on those, it will become apparent as to which students were doing their homework and asking questions, just like it was in our regular class routine. 2) It is not necessary for you to print out the homework assignments if you do not wish to do so. The scribed d window shows what the assignments and answer keys look like. With all of them, you can adjust the size of the image with the magnifying glass at the bottom of the document. Some of them are expandable to full screen (bottom right on the document). Not all of the scribed documents are downloadable. 3) If you wish to adjust the font size, orientation, or print out any of the documents, I have included each of those documents in pdf file formats at the bottom of the post. Again, once you open up the pdf doc, you can adjust font size and orientation without having to print it out. If you can not open the pdf files, let me know. For the last two weeks while school has been closed we have been officially using our snow days and rescheduled Spring Break. Therefore, no student work was mandatory. Going forward, this next week we will begin reviewing with the last units to get everybody back into routine and refresh our memories. From this point on, you should be checking the website on a regular basis. Notes, homework and answer keys will be posted. The links to online assessments will be posted. It is your responsibility to finish them by the due date. If you have any questions, please email me. I will also be posting helpful tutorial websites for material as well. Good luck and stay healthy! The notes, worksheets and answers for the next week's review assignments are below. We will begin by reviewing vectors in their various formats - trig, component and linear combination and then reviewing where we started with polar coordinates. Next week we will continue with polar and parametric equations. I have sent an email update to all parents of my students based on the email information listed in the Eschool portal.
If you have not received an email from me today, 3/28/2020 please send me an email at [email protected]. I hope that everybody is doing well and healthy.
There have been various updates from Administration about how to proceed with classes going forward over this past week. Due to the onset of the Corona Virus, the situation has evolved rapidly over the last several days. Going forward, assignments and due dates will be listed here as well as their answers so that you may check your work. For those who have enrolled for credit through Suffolk County Community College, I will inform you of updates as they come to me. If you have any questions going forward, please email me.
